Fred Rigby seeks an experienced and organised Workshop Manager to oversee their production processes, ensure smooth operations, and maintain high-quality standards. This role requires hands-on production, planning, and coordination involvement, making it ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drawings & New Orders: Review technical drawings, CAD files, and new orders to ensure accuracy and feasibility for production.
  • Production Support: Collaborate closely with the Production Manager to meet deadlines, optimise workflows, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Planning & Organisation: Manage daily schedules, prioritise tasks, and use strong time management to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Deliveries & Installations: Ensure orders are ready for collections, and manage deliveries, and on-site installations, ensuring seamless execution. 
  • Workshop Production: Oversee the preparation process, including routing, sanding, and other pre-assembly tasks.
  • Assembly: Lead the team in assembling products to meet design and quality standards.
  • Packing & Preparing: Ensure completed orders are quality-checked, properly packed and prepared for shipment or delivery.
  • Order Management: Oversee the handling of multiple orders weekly, ensuring timely collection and delivery.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in workshop or production management, ideally in furniture or a related field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting CAD drawings and technical plans.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Practical experience with routing, sanding, and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and delivery partners.
  • Driving License Essential
